Today’s topic is, "Is my SEO Firm Legit?"
Welcome to Friday Roundup. I’m John Peterson with Develare. Today’s topic is, Is My SEO Firm Legit? Let me start up and say that we are not an SEO firm. Yes, we can provide some local SEO services. Yes, we can look at your competitors and help you pick out excellent SEO keywords that are already working for them. Yes, we can set up your website so that it maximizes the results of those keywords. However, sustained results come from an SEO company that will put in motion campaigns that typically take a thousand dollars or more a month over long periods of time. We can help you recognize the good guys from the bad guys; and that’s where the story begins.
As a part of every new website, we analyze our clients’ existing websites. What we saw was troubling; a big increase in links from spammy sites. In the old SEO days, you could get links from anywhere, and most of them would help your site. Those days are long gone. Today’s search engines look at where the links are coming from, the relevancy of those links, the freshness of those links, and a lot of other factors. Modern search engines are looking for quality links. Here’s some warning signs.
Have you been pitched by a low cost SEO firm that says they will build a set number of links? Have you been pitched by a low cost SEO firm that says it will get you on the first page of Google? Regardless of price, the SEO firm needs to be able to translate their results into actions that matter for your business, phones calls, form submissions, sales, those kinds of things. Even if they are delivering traffic to your site, it needs to be the kind of traffic that generates business. If done properly, SEOs still works. If done properly, SEO will probably always work. At its core, SEO helps search engines find the right answers for the right questions. We have seen people who generate tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of traffic that then converts into real business. SEO is one piece of a digital marketing puzzle that can yield long term results.
Wondering if your SEO firm is legit? Drop a few links on the comments below. We’d be happy to check out your website or even the website of a friend. That’s it for today’s Friday Roundup, I’m John Peterson with Develare, signing off.
